Radiators
These are the main method of heat transfer in a typical central heating system. They are thin pieces of metal with a cavity that allows water to move from one end of the radiator to the other. Radiators are normally comprised of one or two thin metal sheets, that wok to transfer heat from the water to the surrounding air (as metal is a thermal conductor), via the large surface area that the radiator covers. Due to the temperature that the pressurised water can travel at, in addition to the large thermal surface, radiators can transfer a lot of heat to the surrounding area, thus allowing them to warm up living spaces.
